Alot of our customer's seem to think they know more than we do. They are always reading magazines and surfing the web for beauty and hair advice. But, what your stylists never tells you is that those things you research is designed to put us out of business. What those publications do is tell you how to do your own hair. Stylist's do love their customers but, hey we have to pay bills to and we didn't go through school and pay all this money for expert education classes for nothing. If you want the best service from your stylist it pays to be courteous, generous, and know these 10 things that your stylist may never tell you.
1.CUSTOMERS ARE OUR WALKING BILLBOARDS
Stylist will never tell you that they need their clients to represent them.
Keeping your hair up and looking fab attracts other customers. People want
know who does your hair and want to start going where you go.
2.A STYLIST KNOWS YOUR HAIR BETTER THAN YOU
Customers think they know their hair type and they think they know how to
take care of their hair but, they really don't. Stylists are trained to know all hair types and diagnose what regimen fits you and your lifestyle.
3.STYLISTS PUSH PRODUCTS BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT PRODUCTS WORK NOT TO MAKE MORE MONEY
Alot of our customers seem to think we push products on them because we want to make more money during your visit. So not true! We push product use on you because we want you to use the same products we use in the salon when you are home. It lets us know you are not using crazy over the counter products that will go against the grain of what we are trying to create for your hair care.
4.STYLISTS ARE NOT MAGICIANS
Customers seem to think that when they come into the salon that stylists can just wave a wand and "POOF" your beautiful. It takes time and dedication on both parts to get hair in the proper condition but, I will admit sometimes we do make magic on some clients.
5.STYLISTS DON'T NEED TO BE TIPPED
We as Stylists depend on our tips. It is ideal to tip your stylist because we often remember those who tip well and we seem to favor them and give them more attention than to those who do not tip.(20% or more of the service is a fair tip to leave your stylist)
6. ALL STYLISTS ARE "SCISSOR HAPPY"
"I'm just going to cut what is necessary!" are the words you might here your stylist say. You have to be careful what you ask for. If you ask for your ends to be cut, then you'll get a cut. If you ask for your ends to be trimmed then you'll get a trim. It's all in the word usage.
7. SALONS ARE NOT DAYCARE
A Salon is place of Relaxation and time you take out to get away from the kids and the other half. Why would you want to mess all that up by bringing the kids?
8. USING YOUR CELL PHONE WHILE BEING SERVICED
Everybody hates when you are on the phone while getting your hair done. Your moving and twisting your head all around and makes it hard for your stylist to do a good job on your head. Put down the phone, relax and get your hair done!
9.STYLIST WILL NEVER ADMIT YOUR THEIR WORST CUSTOMER
Even if you are the worst client your stylist has endured, a stylist will never let you know. They will only learn how to deal with you and put you in the "Special" category.
