Salon Etiquette with MsGlamDoll
Hey, let's be honest Dolls. Getting your hair done is a very serious matter. We want to always come out of the salon looking amazing! Little do some know there are rules inside of the salon. When you think about Salons you think about fun, gossip, and drama. Contrary to believe, not all Salons fit into that category. Common Sense, decency, and just plain manners will give you a more pleasant salon experience. But,if your not up to date on your Salon Etiquette let me give you a few tips that may bring you up to speed.
Tip #1: Be courteous about your appointments. If you have an appointment and your not able to make that appointment, most salons have a 24 hour cancellation policy so, please call ahead of time or you may be looking at a cancellation fee on your next visit.
Tip #2: You should always tip your stylist. I think there are some professions you should not have to think twice about when it comes to leaving a tip. Your stylist are one of the few you should definitely tip. You gotta take care of the people who take care of you.
Tip #3: Explain exactly the look you want. There is nothing like bad communication between you and your stylist. Photos are a very good way to show the look you are looking for. Having a consultation before a service is essential.
Tip #4: Keep chatter in check. Yes, gossiping is fun but every one in the salon may not like what you have to say. Keep conversations delightful. Fashion and Celeb News are always good topics. Its a neutral zone. Sex, cursing, and talking about others are a NO NO!!!
Tip #5: Never come in the Salon on a time schedule. Your emergency is not your stylists' priorty. Schedule your appointments accordingly. Don't expect your stylist to rush you in and out because you have things to do because GUESS WHAT, so does your stylist.
Tip #6: Stylist have a life to. You have to understand that your stylist has their own life. They get sick, have family emergencies, and tire out. Sometimes Clients can be very selfish and forget we are human beings with our very own lives.
Tip #7: This one is for Stylists: Please keep up your appearance. Walking around with your hair all over the place and bummy attire is not a good way to let your clients know you are a stylist. Your clients look to you for style and fashion so your expected to look the part.
Tip #8: Stylists, be on time. Clients don't like coming in the Salon and not seeing your face. No one likes to wait 30 minutes for you finally to arrive and bless them with another 30 minutes for you to get settled and finally start them.
Keep these tips in mind and you'll be well on your way to an awesome Salon experience.
